The Essoyes School (pronounced ESS-WAH) is named for a beautiful little village in the Champagne region of France, two and a half hours southeast of Paris...

Since 2008 we have offered Writing from the Heart workshops in Essoyes, and in 2010 we ran our first drawing workshop and "Skychaser" gathering, dedicated to plein air drawing, painting, and mixed media. We have also taught in Paris, New York, Washington D.C., Honolulu, Havana, and Florence. But Essoyes, this tranquil village nestled in the rolling hills, vineyards, forests, and fields of Champagne, where the Renoir family spent their happiest years, is at the center of our activities.
